Mercers’ Arts Awards

The Mercers’ Arts Award is given on the basis that it is used to contribute towards the costs of materials and/or studio space to bridge the gap between academic study and professional careers, and will be awarded according to academic merit.

Reward for Mercers’ Arts Award

The Mercers’ Arts Award of £5,000 is available to one Home or EU student currently enrolled on the final year of the MFA Fine Art course at Wimbledon College of Arts, University of The Arts London.

Applications must be made online. You will need to fill in an online application form. In addition to the online application form, you will need to send the following supplementary material:

1. An electronic portfolio sent via Dropbox to scholarshipapplications@arts.ac.uk containing 1 PDF document, which should be an example of what you consider to be your best work for the Selection Panel to review, and must include:
• title page with your name and course title;
• introductory page of no more than 500 words explaining your work;
• up to 15 pages of images with each page numbered and clearly labelled showing the date of production and, if relevant, title, size and materials used in the original piece. Please ensure you compress your file. Large files might not upload properly.

The Fung Scholarships are available to nominated EU or International students from the following participating institutions:

Reward for Fung Scholarships

The Fung Scholarships will cover full tuition fees for two terms and also provide a contribution towards course costs and living expenses.

1. For theory based courses, please provide three essays/written project of what you consider to be your best work for the selection panel to review and send via Dropbox to scholarshipapplications@arts.ac.uk with an introductory page of no more than 500 words explaining your work, methodology and inspiration.

Frank Bowling Scholarship

The Frank Bowling Scholarship have been established by artist Frank Bowling OBE. Frank is an alumnus of Chelsea College of Arts, former staff member of Byam Shaw and Camberwell College of Arts.

The Frank Bowling Scholarship will cover full tuition fees for the course, and will be awarded according to financial need and academic merit.

The selected students will be those who will benefit from postgraduate studies to realise their full potential and who are unable to finance themselves through their studies.

Reward for Frank Bowling Scholarship

The Frank Bowling Scholarship of £9,600 each are available to two Home or EU students accepted on the MA Fine Art course at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. It will cover full tuition fees for the course, and will be awarded according to financial need and academic merit.

Cordwainers Hardship Fund

The Cordwainers Hardship Fund provides grants between £100 and £700 each to Home students currently enrolled on the BA Cordwainers Fashion Accessories: Product Design and Development or BA Cordwainers Footwear: Product Design and Development course at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.

In common with other Livery Companies, the Cordwainers Company was, in the early and middle ages, responsible for the governance and quality control of its trade in the City of London and the education and training of craftsmen through the system of apprenticeships. This early involvement in education and training has continued to the present day.

Reward for Cordwainers Hardship Fund

The Cordwainers Hardship Fund provides grants between £100 and £700 and is intended to help students who have genuine and unavoidable financial difficulties and are struggling with their living costs despite having received all financial support available to them. The Fund acts as a safety net for students in financial difficulty rather than their main source of income.

To help ensure the BA (Hons) Cordwainers courses remain open to talented students, regardless of their background and economic circumstances, The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers are pleased to provide three bursaries as a contribution towards course tuition fees, the Cordwainers BA Footwear and BA Accessories Bursaries.

These bursaries are presented strictly on the basis of financial need and eligible students either satisfy the University’s hardship fund criteria or come via the Widening Participation route.
